About Me

Hi, I'm Paula. I'm a qualified counsellor and a registered BACP member. In my counselling practice I work with adults and couples who are experiencing a range of issues such as anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, major life events, bereavement, low self-esteem, depression and stress. As I am a long time sufferer of Crohn's Disease and have had an ileostomy for over 30 years I also provide specialist counselling to people living with chronic illnesses, disabilities and ostomies. I feel that my unique lived experience gives me the ability to empathise with people undergoing similar problems that I myself have had to face over the years.

I work in an integrative way which means that I employ different therapeutic methods to suit your unique issues. I will listen to you in a warm, empathetic and non-judgmental way and work with you to explore your emotions in a safe and supportive environment. I aim to help you reflect and make sense of your issues and gain a greater understanding of yourself, and each other, so you can move forward.
